Jeremiah Taylor, Founder and CEO

Jeremiah’s career path changed when he lost his sight in April 2000. Although totally blind Jeremiah used his outgoing personality, sales training and drive to motivate himself to continue his successful business career.

He learned to use technology for the blind and accepted an offer to join Transwestern Publishing . Although totally blind, he became a successful advertising sales executive, a Regional Recruiter and their trainer of sales personnel.

In October 2004, he left Transwestern Publishing to become a Motivational Speaker and start ProActive Sales, Inc., and Transwestern became his first client!

In January 2008, his Sales consulting company was retained to assist in the development of the New York franchise of Proshred Security, Inc., a Canadian based Document and hard drive Destruction Service. His company’s role was the recruitment, training and daily management of their sales staff. In 2009, he expanded his company’s role with Proshred Security by establishing a Teleprospecting Call Center servicing the needs of their other franchises located across the United States.

In 2010, ProActive Sales, Inc. was retained to be the official United States Sales Agent for Silver Connect; a Web Design and Call Center located in the Philippines.

Other Achievements

  • Committee Member with The NYC Mayor’s office For People With Disabilities.
  • Keynote speaker at several corporate events including: IBM, RegionalHelpWanted.com, and the New York State Commission For The Blind.
  • Subject of several articles including an article for the New York Daily News “Outstanding New Yorkers”!

Earlier Career

After being discharged from the Marines, Jeremiah Taylor began his career as a field collector with Household Finance Corporation. He went on to become the Regional Credit Manager for Lane Bryant stores, Director of Credit Operations for Lord & Taylor and in 1980 at the age of thirty-two, the Vice-President of Credit Operations for the John Wanamaker stores based in Philadelphia.

On his return to New York, he combined his sales and operational talents to start Innovative Collection Services, a collection agency servicing the medical and food industries. As his company grew, it merged with International Recovery Associates.

In 1997, he sold his interest in International Recovery associates and relocated to Westchester, New York. He joined the senior management team of Optimum Applied Systems Inc. OASI is an engineering firm specializing in energy management. As their Vice President of Sales with an eye on the President’s position, he led the company to their best sales year in five years.

IN April 2000, Jeremiah lost his sight and his career path changed!
